He doesn't affect the story but he is mentioned a few times. Maryam is Parvana's other sister and she didn't affect the story because she was only mentioned. Homa is the sad girl on the bench that Parvana tried to help. She was lonely and sad. She looked lost and she didn't have a burqa on.
